D. David Kim, DMD, MD, FACS, MBA
Dr. David Kim is a Professor in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Louisiana State Health Science Center at Shreveport. He received his undergraduate and dental medicine degrees at the University of Pittsburgh and completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery training at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Brooklyn in the MD-integrated program. Dr. Kim then completed a 2-year fellowship in Head and Neck/Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical System. Dr. Kim began as faculty at LSU Shreveport in 2003 and has served as the Residency Program Director of the 6-year, MD-integrated residency program at LSU HSC Shreveport. He helped to create the Fellowship in Head and Neck Oncologic and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery and has served as the Fellowship director of the 2-year fellowship since its inception in 2006 and is the Chief of the Division of Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. Kim was selected as the Jack W. Gamble Endowed Chairman of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2022 at LSU Health Science Center Shreveport. He currently serves as the Vice Chief of Staff at Ochsner Health Shreveport and serves as chairman of the Operative Review Committee, Credentials Committee and the Physician’s Excellence Committee. Dr. Kim also is a member of the LSU Health School of Medicine’s Admission’s Committee. Dr. Kim is a past-president of the American Academy of Craniomaxillofacial Surgeons as well as a past-president of the AAOMS Faculty Section. Dr. Kim has also served as chairman of the Committee on Residency Education and Training. He has also been a board examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for 11 years and has served as content expert for reconstructive surgery as well as a member of the committee that formed the Certificate of Added Qualification in Head and Neck Oncologic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Yousef Alshamrani, DDS, MPH, FRCDC, FACS
Dr. Yousef Alshamrani is an Assistant Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at LSU Health Shreveport, specializing in Head and Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction. He completed his residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and a fellowship at LSU Health Shreveport. He is board certified by the American and Canadian Boards of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Board of Head and Neck Oncology/Microvascular Surgery. Dr. Alshamrani has published multiple peer reviewed articles and authored two book chapters on Head and Neck Necrotizing Fasciitis Management and Floor of Mouth Squamous Cell Carcinoma. He is active in AAOMS, AACMFS, and AOCMF and has received awards for excellence in clinical care and research.

John McKelvey, Jr., DDS
Dr. John McKelvey is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon dedicated to providing quality care to his patients, bringing experience from the U.S. Army. He attended Virginia Military Institute where he graduated with Institute Honors and a BS in Biology. Dr. McKelvey went on to earn his DDS from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. He then served as a general dentist for the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, maintaining dental readiness and delivering high-quality dental care to more than 16,000 soldiers. Dr. McKelvey then proceeded to complete an intensive oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, NC where he served as Chief Resident. There he received extensive clinical training in anesthesia, corrective jaw surgery, facial trauma, and complex dental procedures. Dr. McKelvey maintains certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
Dedicated to patient safety, surgical excellence, and collaborative care, Dr. McKelvey is committed to providing timely, high-quality service to referring providers and their patients. Outside the office, Dr. McKelvey enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, exploring new places with his family, and playing the guitar.

Ryane Staples, DMD
Dr. Staples was born and raised in Maine, majored in Economics at Colgate University, and completed dental school at the University of CT (UConn). He then became the first-ever US Naval graduate from the renowned San Antonio Military Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at Brooke Army Medical Center. After residency, he furthered his training by completing a one-year surgical fellowship in Facial Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is an Attending Surgeon for the US Navy, performing full-scope Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and teaching residents to prepare them to be the Navy's surgeons of tomorrow.
When not doing or teaching surgery, he loves traveling with his wife – taking road trips, skiing, hiking, reading, working out, and eating!

Dr. Wagner, DDS is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and active-duty Captain in the United States Air Force, where he has served as a commissioned officer in the Department of Defense since 2017. He completed his Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency at David Grant Medical Center and Travis Air Force Base.
Dr. Wagner earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Olaf College. His academic background is complemented by extensive research experience, with a strong focus on evidence-based opioid prescribing, anesthesia safety, and postoperative pain management.
He is a published author in leading peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Pain, and Cranio-Maxillofacial Trauma & Reconstruction, and has presented original research at national meetings for AAOMS, AADR/IADR, and other professional organizations. His work has contributed to meaningful reductions in opioid prescribing through protocol-driven, patient-centered care.
Dr. Wagner has received numerous honors recognizing his academic excellence, leadership, and service, including the William H. Bell Award from the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and multiple University of Minnesota leadership and research awards. In addition to his clinical and research pursuits, he has held national and state leadership roles within organized dentistry and remains deeply committed to community service and volunteer outreach.
With a foundation in military medicine, academic rigor, and compassionate patient care, Dr. Staples brings a thoughtful, disciplined, and evidence-based approach to oral and maxillofacial surgery.

Eric William Olendorf, DMD
Dr. Olendorf is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon with over 21 years of military service, including a distinguished career as a Navy submarine officer and oral surgeon. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy, he served as a nuclear-trained submarine officer before earning his dental degree from the University of Washington School of Dentistry and completing his oral surgery residency at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, where he served as Chief Resident.
Following retirement from active duty in 2022, Dr. Olendorf remained in private practice in the Charleston, South Carolina area, providing full-scope oral surgery and facial trauma care. He has removed more than 10,000 sets of wisdom teeth and is passionate about helping patients feel comfortable and at ease through compassionate care and in-office anesthesia.
Outside of work, Dr. Olendorf enjoys spending time with his wife, five children, and chocolate lab, as well as traveling, golfing, cooking, and sports.
